The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Tim Wedlock, whose lifetime of service to the Australian insurance industry has left an enduring legacy.

Tim dedicated 39 years to AEI Insurance Broking Group and was one of the most respected figures in the broking profession.

As a Former President and Fellow of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA), he devoted more than 20 years of service on NIBA committees and the National Board, helping shape the profession and strengthen the industry for generations to come.

Tim was admired not only for his leadership and professionalism, but also for his generosity, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the people around him. He was a passionate advocate for attracting and developing future talent, championing the Insure Your Future initiative and encouraging the next generation to see insurance as a rewarding, innovative, and meaningful profession.

Through his leadership, mentorship, and willingness to share his knowledge, he inspired countless people to build successful careers across our industry.

While Tim's career was centred within the broking profession, his influence extended across the broader insurance community. He believed in collaboration, valued strong industry relationships, and earned the respect of brokers, underwriting agencies, insurers and business partners alike.

His contribution to Australian insurance has been profound, and his loss will be deeply felt across every part of our industry.

On behalf of the UAC Board, our members, and the UAC team, we extend our sincere condolences to everyone across the Australian insurance community who is mourning Tim's passing and reflecting on the extraordinary contribution he made to our profession.
